SEASON CHANGING SURVIVAL KIT!


All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey! I'm sure the blue sky is just around the corner though... Since the turn of the beautiful, powerful and full Harvest moon just the other week, there has been a dramatic shift in the energy and mood of everyone around me. Some have been for the better - we seem to be a lot more chilled and our intentions have been re-set. Whereas others are catching colds, illnesses and feeling tired in these darker days. Here are some tips to keep you in tip-top shape!

Wake & stretch yo'self!

The cooler days can tighten our muscles and the darker mornings can make it seem impossible to roll out of bed! Sit up in bed, yawn and stretch while sitting then casually break out into 5mins of energy-giving stretches - make sure you breath in and out deeeeply while you're at it too! You'll be surprised at how good stretching is done in bed. And then obviously get yourself to Bootycamp to keep that summer bod in tact!

Turmeric yo' latte

Turmeric has many nourishing and restorative benefits, listen up before you drink up: Make yo' skin nice! Turmeric's anti-inflammatory properties mean it can help to reduce redness and skin irritation, whilst its anti-bacterial qualities make it great for blemishes and acne. This anti-inflammatory spice can aid with muscle recovery too, from post workout DOMS to arthritis. It also provides brain boosting powers: Turmeric produces a substance called Curcumin, which has a number of medicinal properties. One of these is that it can help to protect against the effects of Alzheimer's disease, by increasing overall memory function. RDI for adults is 1-3g of dried Turmeric, so 1 teaspoon will be plentiful.

Body Scrub yo' body! All that horizontal working on your tan, will of evidently left your skin quiet dry, whip up a homemade, chemical-free scrub with just three simple ingredients - coffee, coconut oil and cinnamon! Simply melt the coconut oil and mix in the ground coffee beans and cinnamon. Messy but so good and nourishing! Eat the balls!

So many different varieties to this protein, sugar-less balls! Curb your 3.30itis with this homemade delights. You can basically whiz up whatever you fancy - just leave out the nasty sugars!!
